The 19th annual Victorian Underground Mine Rescue Competition was held in and around my hometown this weekend just gone, and I was lucky enough to be invited along with other photographers to photograph the event. I was able to photograph the Stawell team as they attempted a simulation rope rescue event for the competition held at the Fosterville Mine in Central Victoria. It was my first time in a large mine, and it was a great event to capture.

These tunnels are big enough to drive around in

The tension builds. (The teams are racing against the clock in this event)
Hauling up the 'victim'
And she's safe
